He is only 13 months old and he packs a wallop. If I tell him "no" or "don't do that" or "stop that"...he has the tendency of going cray cray.
Yesterday when he threw his Cheerios on the floor I told him "no". You would have thought that I had committed a great evil. He got so angry that he bit me, scratched me, and pulled my hair.
I told him that it was not acceptable. Of course that led to a total temper tantrum.
In your opinion, is this normal? And if not what should I do about it? I mean, he is only 13 months. His age is my dilemma.
People have told me to: get down on his level, let him know I understand his frustration and explain why mommy says "no" sometimes. This sounds good. However, part of me wonders about his level of understanding. Wouldn't he just understand punishment better...such as a time out?
Let me know what you think. What would you do?
